Suddenly, the pressure on his head eased, and he was suddenly aware of a new set of experiences. The sounds were so loud and the light so intense. He was aware for the first time of human handling as he was assisted out of his mother. He was aware of hands holding him and the sudden intake of air into his lungs signalled his seperate existence as a human being. James was identified as a live male boy, his birth cord seperated from his mother and an identity tag placed on his wrist. Naked, he was wrapped and then his little face placed near his young mothers. It was at this stage the film over his eyes cleared and he started to wail.
Babies can wail, and James is no exception. He can also see and and hear. He will know when he is hungry, soiled, wet or has the gripes. He was very used to motion before he was born and now motion is used to soothe him as a baby. James is now a complete human being in himself. His body will develop physically at great pace. His mind, emotions and will, making up his soul, will assimilate, record and utilise billions of events, both good and bad, and the process will determine the sort of person he will be. His spirit, his actual God given life within his being, will remain with him whilst his body has breath, but how this will be allowed to play a part in his human life depends on many factors surrounding him as he grows.
We hope these pages have made you think! Premarital sex will continue to produce babies as lovely as James, but because of what humankind is by nature, this little boy will have great odds stacked against him. Is that fair to him and his mother?
