SPIRITUAL PARENTING IN THE NATURAL WORLD (4)

Spiritual parenting and natural parenting must be one and the same in daily living. How successful you are at one will depend how successful you are at the other. Look at the simple picture above.

In parenting terms we could ask and answer

several questions to establish several truths about what is truly happening in the picture. The child is looking at a book, but it could well be a TV,

or the screen of a game console.

The spiritual battle for your child is lost or won in his or her mind. What we experience through our senses will influence what we become in our mind.

Like the human appetite for food  which

influences our physical make up and health, so will our appetite in our minds influence what we become like, in our hidden being. The mind is naturally worldly, and mankind naturally wilful, whilst the emotions are shaped by the  good and bad that happens to the whole human child.

From our first day of  conception we learn by experience, first through our human spirit which is alive and very sensitive. As the foetal body develops, with its early brain, then the mind, emotions and will

become established. What the human spirit has experienced from conception onward, affects the early development of the emotions in this frail little human being. What is instilled and retained in the mind may be true, or may be false. We develop mindsets from our earliest days and many are untruths planted by the spiritual enemy. Jesus said:

(John 8:44 NIV)  You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

It is the intention of the devil to wreak as much damage, and plant as many ungodly lies, and attitudes, in as many young lives as possible.

The devil is a spirit and un-spiritual flesh is defenceless against him.

It is in the provision of Jesus Christ that God has counteracted this spiritual unbalance and bought back the authority and power for the

human spirit in man to be reborn and empowered through Holy Spirit.

(Matthew 28:18 NIV)  Then Jesus came to them and said,

"All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

(Luke 10:17 NIV)  The seventy-two returned with joy and said, "Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name."

(Luke 10:18 NIV)  He replied, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.

(Luke 10:19 NIV)  I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.

(Luke 10:20 NIV)  However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven."

We are known to God as individuals before He ordained our human existence and numbered our days even before we are conceived. As parents, who are to be gifted with such responsibility for this child, God will honour and bless your prayers for him/her as you seek parenthood and beyond to individuation. It is never too late to start praying.

It is in this great truth that as disciples of Jesus we have a responsibility before God to seek Godly nurture and divine protection for our children  and this can sought even before conception, by His grace and mercy.

(Psalm 139:13 NIV)  For you created my inmost being; you knit me

together in my mother's womb.

(Psalm 139:14 NIV)  I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

(Psalm 139:15 NIV)  My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,

(Psalm 139:16 NIV)  your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
